A deepening relationship, a lifestyle, an opportunity
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
Time dedicated to your walk with Christ
The Church of St Leonard at Wroxall expresses its identity in Modern Monasticism; its own unique way of creating access to a lifestyle that might otherwise be out of reach for most people. The opportunity to be supported in the structure of daily prayer and worship, and depth of study and reflection, while still maintaining a secular life has never before been regularly attainable. We trust the Lord’s leading that this will be a blessing to many ministers, leaders and mature Christians seeking such opportunity.
The Word of God is not just a book - but a living, active opportunity to become ever closer to Him. Through our study groups and courses, we will support and encourage the personal meaning and relationship open to all who seek the Lord. Anagogical exegesis provides not just what the Word says, but explores what the Word means, what the Word means to you (in an entirely personal context) and what the Word means in the context of eternity. Focussing on single verses or chapters, we trust the Lord will lead us all into a deeper, personal understanding and relationship with Him.
Rest is not always about inactivity - often it’s about doing something different. A retreat to Wroxall is a short, but meaningful, facilitated opportunity to immerse yourself in prayer, worship, fellowship and study - to be with fellow leaders and ministers, or to spend time alone in prayerfully seeking of the Lord’s will for your life.
The environment is within the vast verdance of the Warwickshire countryside (easy access from Birmingham International airport and rail station), with long walks, ornamental gardens, the priory ruins, quiet reflection in the church - and the modern comfort of the beautiful hotel with whom we share the space at their generous hospitality.
